The LAB book in Communication Arts Design Annual 2009
Posted on December 02 2009
We’re delighted that The LAB book has been selected for inclusion in Communication Arts Design Annual 2009, which celebrates the best design solutions of the year.
“It was overwhelming, in a positive way, to see so much good work in most of the categories,” Scott Arrowood said. “When you consider the hours behind all the beauty—concepting, type choices, meetings, etc.— it is naturally humbling.”

Support Barnardo’s Yes/No Child Poverty Campaign
Posted on November 11 2009
Barnardos, the children’s charity “where no child gets left behind” have commissioned Creative Inc to develop a pre-budget campaign aimed at protecting Ireland’s most vulnerable children from the worst affects of the upcoming budget.
While it is clear that difficult decisions have to be made in the current economic context, Barnardos believes that any decisions made in Budget 2010 must be both proportionate and fair. Our most vulnerable children cannot be made bear the brunt of recession with deepening poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion.

Creative Inc’s Commercial Director Niall Corcoran was interviewed as part of The Irish Times Innovation Magazine piece on Irish design, published on Friday.
Entitled “Design for Success”, the piece focusses on the value of design to business, and highlights the range of events which are taking place as part of Design Week 2009.
Niall strikes a positive note on the standard of Irish Design — “The recession is not affecting the quality of Irish design, if anything it is sharpening and heightening the senses and whatever work is coming into the studios is being cherished that bit more,” he says.
“There was always a sub-conscious feeling in Irish design that we were that bit behind other leading countries like the Netherlands or Scandinavia. Clients and customers were slow to appreciate the importance of design. I like to think that this has changed and Irish design is now arguably as strong as its international competitors.”
