What are the necessary components of a good brand story?

“Alfred Hitchcock once said that a good story was “life, with the dull parts taken out”. An effective brand story is one that, much like a real story, uses similar ingredients to connect with an audience and allows you to communicate with them. In any great tale, these include the central character(s), the setting, dialogue, theme, style and plot. It should imbue the aesthetics but also the ethos of a company or product in a way that allows customers to identify it as something that represents who they are and what they are looking for.

Creative Inc have two projects published in Vivid!

Vivid! – The Allure of Color in Design, published by Sandu Publishing, has recently been finished and is in shops now! The book features two of Creative Inc’s projects; Saba to go (Identity, Packaging, Advertising and Web Design) and IBAT (Rebranding, Wayfinding/ Signage, environmental graphics and prospectus).

Creative Inc receive Federal Republic of Germany Design Award nomination

Creative Inc have been nominated for a Federal Republic of Germany Design Award, which is the highest official recognition for design excellence in Germany, for The Lab book for Dublin City Council. The honor is awarded by the by the Federal Minister for Economics and Technology and is organised by the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung). Participation in the award ceremony is conditional on being nominated either by one of the Ministries or Senators of the Federal States or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Moreover, to be eligible, all entries must have already won a national or international award.

Irish Times Article: Why advertising sector needs to get creative

Creative Inc has been used as an exemplar in an Irish Times article entitled ‘Why advertising sector needs to get creative’ published on Thursday, April 22, 2010. Jury member Rob O’Reilly says: “Producing a piece of commercial work that engages creatively and also communicates at a corporate level is difficult.”

He was impressed by Creative Inc’s design work on an IDA publication, which won a silver Bell. “Traditionally a brochure like that would be thrown together with some stock photography. But the design agency made a distinct effort to do something different and that wouldn’t have been easy.”
